This assessment is for dog owners who have been attending our Neutral Walks and feel ready to progress to off-lead Social Walks. It's how we ensure every dog joining the pack is set up for success.

You wouldn't throw a non-swimmer into the deep end, and I won't throw a dog into a pack unless I know they can swim.
Social Walks are off-lead environments. To keep them safe, fun, and bullying-free, I need to know exactly who is joining the group. This is a 60-minute, 1-to-1 session. It is low-stress and non-judgmental.

The Connection
Does your dog check in with you? Can they look to you for guidance when uncertain?
The Recall
Will they come back when called, even with distractions present?
The Stooge Test
I will bring my dog Aslan to observe how the dogs interact in a controlled setting.
The Outcome
There are only two possible results—and both are positive.
Pass
You gain immediate access to book Social Walks. Welcome to the next level of freedom for you and your dog!
Not Quite Ready
That's okay! I will give you specific feedback on what needs work. Our Social Fundamentals group sessions or 1:1 Training can help you bridge the gap and try again with confidence.
This isn't a test you can fail—it's a checkpoint that sets you up for success. Whatever the outcome, you'll leave with clarity on your next steps.

What is the assessment?
The assessment is a 1:1 evaluation where I observe your dog's behaviour, body language, and how they respond to other dogs in a controlled setting. It's the gateway to our off-lead Social Walks and helps me understand where your dog is in their journey.
How much does the assessment cost and how long does it take?
The assessment costs £20 and takes approximately 60 minutes.
What happens if my dog doesn't pass the assessment?
There's no failure — just a different next step. If your dog isn't quite ready for off-lead Social Walks, I'll recommend either Social Fundamentals group training (£35) or 1:1 Training Sessions (£75) to work on the specific areas that need development. Many dogs just need a little more time and support.
Do I need to have attended Neutral Walks before booking an assessment?
Yes. The assessment is designed for dogs who have built a foundation through our Neutral Walks. It's the next natural step in the progression.
